The world has united in a split society not defined by geographic boundries, but by communication streams.
Indeed a peace as we might define it today does exist as the battle remains on an intellectual level since the banishment of all weapons of physical harm was established in 2047.
What we know as criminal activity in today's society is handled by a deactivation of one's "account" until due process has defined and resolved the crime and returned a determination of penalty. This, like all things is rendered in value!
All intelligent beings, (human mostly) are measured buy their "Net Value". One's achievements credited by a standard model of "Contribution" to the global bank...
